We had the cod fish fry and the chicken dinner. Both were tasty. We also tried the loaded bloody Mary. There were just two servers staffing the bar, dining area, and outdoor seating. They were providing excellent customer service during a very stressful rush.
What a hidden gem! First time here after coming to Eagle River for 24 years! Mitchell, our server was so friendly. For as busy as they were, all the servers had smiles on their faces.
I highly recommend the chicken dinner and Bloody Mary’s. Hubby had the low carb burger which was huge! We will be returning very soon.
First time visiting Honey Bear tonight. I had the cod fish fry with potato salad. The fish fry consisted of three pieces of cod loin, about 6-8" long, and only about 1.25-1.5" thick, which meant the fish was nicely cooked. The potato salad was very tasty. Came with rye bread slices and butter. Very good meal.
Honey Bear is exactly what I love about a Northwoods establishment: cozy, big portions, friendly waitstaff, and really great food! I was a little sticker shocked looking at the menu. Their Honey Bear Fish Fry was $21. That felt a bit steep to us for a fish fry, but when we got our order it was a big portion: 3 large pieces of beer battered cod that was nice and crispy, a side–get the potato salad, Hayden gave it an A, and rye bread. It was yummy and we both gave it a B+, but I don’t feel the need to go back for it due to the high price.
Amazing beer battered cod, 3 large loin fillets with all the fixings of a traditional tavern fish fry! Hand battered cheese curds were awesome! Beautiful decor, great service and quick to get food out.
Best fish fry I've had in some time. Drinks were crazy affordable. Service was friendly. You'll probably have to wait for a table, but it's worth it!
The atmosphere and service were great! They have the best cheese curds I've ever eaten and the walleye was spectacular. Also, our waitress Linda was great with our kids and enhanced our experience.
Excellent fish fry! About a 30 minute wait on a Friday at 5, so not bad. Area for the kids to play while waiting. Beautiful bar! At $21, a little more than other places, but excellent fish and a huge portion!
